Before creating a brand new plot with Twine (at the time I am writing this post, I have yet to complete Cadenza, my current plot,) I thought of porting the UDWiki part of Operation May. Although I have indefinitely halted progress on its novelisation when I "relinquished" the story last year, it would be a shame for it to be lost forever if the UDWiki disappears from the face on the internet for one reason or another. After all, I'm not certain that the Wayback Archive will catch it like it did many of the Weebly pages for Operation May and OMEN.
I recently found out about the existence of a nice tool called Twine, which may be of interest to people who are fond of playing and writing CYOA (choose-your-own-adventure) stories. As most of my completed work so far fall under this genre, I see myself using this tool more often in the future. It's perfect for my purposes. I can use a macro to implement an inventory system, add music without forcing people to go to YouTube to play a soundbite. After all, I'm not certain that the Wayback Archive will catch it like it did many of the Weebly pages for Operation May and OMEN. The first version of the Twine port is likely to have a bare bones layout, but should time permit, I intend to create a new interface for it, still inspired by the Urban Dead interface while not being a carbon copy.

Updates have been close to non-existent on this particular corner of the internet since my stories were in a constant state of flux. As I will start my third year of medical school in less than three weeks, (que excitement! que horror!) I suspect I may not even have the time to fix my Weebly page and update it to the same extent that my Toyhou.se pages are updated (which, as of current writing, are not as updated as I'd like them to be!)
There was an anonymous plot I completed a few months ago, though. Hopefully I'll have the time to at least post that. I wish I can say I'm more active on Twitter, as was the case a few months ago. Those of you who have my contact info on deviantART, Facebook, Subeta, and Discord should still easily get a hold of me (in ascending order of use.) (Mostly cross-posted from my Toyhou.se bulletin.)
In line with concerns raised by a friend of mine, along with my own realisations, I decided to reduce the number of characters publicly displayed on my main Toyhou.se account. I do put some designs that I have scrapped for sale/trade/giveaway (if the character in question is pending a redesign,) but majority of the "missing characters" are being incubated in my side-account (and are merely set to private status.) After seeing a few other people use a secondary account for characters that have not been fully-fleshed out, I feel that it's better to only have my "completed" characters on this account. I will reinstate any characters whose development / status are satisfactory enough once I have reached that point. I'm specifically doing this so that my efforts in developing my characters leads to more organised progress, rather than little bits of progress in every direction. I plan to do the same thing with my life, little by little. I refrain from multitasking, but I realised that multifocusing is my bigger problem. Hopefully this will help solve my problem of not updating weebly to the same speed as Toyhou.se. That, or I can get rid of watermarks on weebly altogether (considering my previous experiences with people stealing commissioned / gifted art even on PAID MOBILE APPS, it's unlikely.) Yes, my syncopal attacks may have become more frequent, and I might still have migraine attacks (I've only had a few episodes where I needed near-complete sensory deprivation, whew,) but I'm not yet dead! Unfortunately, I don't really have much motivation to update Weebly to the same extent I update Toyhou.se, largely because I can't automate my watermarking process. (I edit the artist credit on each image manually.) I have three more exams (two shifting exams, and one remedial exam) left before the term ends for me, and I've been restraining myself from drawing (even when I feel like I can relax a bit.) I won't be working on any digital art (or playing Pokemon Sun) until after I'm sure I passed the remedial exam for obstetrics. I also tried to join NaNoWriMo this year, but predictably, I didn't even get to 5k words! To pick up from where I left in my last post, here are the two characters I previously only had as silhouettes: I hope to update the site before the end of the year, if possible.
Despite taking time off updating Weebly, my grades are not exactly smooth sailing at this point. While I'm thankful that I no longer have story ideas plague my head at the worst possible times, my health was deteriorating up until last week, to the point that I've had to take practical examinations with a different class. I've also missed classes I'd otherwise attend because I'd be brought to the health service building, and I'd be asleep in the classes I do physically attend. I thought I was doing a great job at not sleeping through lectures for the first month of classes! We're in the middle of our examination... month (the major exams are only for about 2 weeks, then the rest are long quizzes or practical exams) and there are still 5 major examinations to go, but I figured I'd make an update tonight (as I plan to continue studying for the pathology exam tomorrow.) I made a few new characters (and a new setting) over the last month, but only one of them has a proper design (which I am not yet ready to show at this point.) Valoris A doctor affiliated with Medici del Mondo who also happens to be one of Rakha's Angels in disguise. Seemingly languid with his speech and disposition, it obfuscates his willingness to help out in any way he can. He also has a part in Noh Aedis, which I will further elaborate later. Mater Known to most people as "Mother Ars," she is a hooded woman of scant words. She is the "matriarch" of Noh Aedis, a part of the Enno Forest that she claimed for the surviving Phies who were displaced by The Vast Purge. She enlisted the help of Sorel, who previously took in "migrants" who were washed ashore in Phiem's harbours. She writes a lot, but her communications are very cryptic. When she does speak, it's also in codes. Mother Ars is protective of those under her care, but never resorts to violence.
Between my classes and Art Fight 2016, I have not updated this site to the extent I'd like to.
A few days ago, I've re-added my Affiliates page to the site. If you want to do a link-trade with me, feel free to contact me on deviantART (Wikipedia) or via e-mail (mackhiiragi [Gmail].) If I enjoy your Weebly site but haven't reached a link-trade agreement with you, I will be adding you to the "Links Out" section instead! I also plan to add other websites not related to character repositories, but I'm not sure if that'd be appropriate. I added social links under the site "logo" (if you can call it that) temporarily. Not too happy with how they look at the moment, so I'll either change the icons or position them elsewhere. Figured that I should link to the site's Facebook and Twitter pages. E-mail is still the best way to inform me of any errors, misattribution, and the like.
Something I'd like to do before starting the Medici del Mondo comic is full-body reference sheets for all major characters. This will take me a lot of time, but I'm not in a rush (academics come first.) Once again, I've been trimming down my cast, although it's not a massive purge. I'm focusing on reducing the amount of characters designed by other people (opposed to my massive purge, which mostly involved my own designs.) I recently obtained a commercial rights to a design that I did not make, and I may have to put down a few of these other agreements in black and white. I don't see my future creative endeavours to net me a lot of income, but some people have been pleased with sketches I've made of some characters that I did not personally design. I've been asked if I can incorporate them in greeting cards, and a dormitory has requested me to make posters featuring some of these characters. Though I made it clear with the owner that I will not accept monetary compensation for this, I still think it's better to clear it up with the designers. So far, I've received favourable responses from two artists who designed many of my characters, and they've told me to show them the resulting poster. I've also been informed that I can discuss commercial use for these designs if I will actually use them for the purpose. My dilemma now lies with the people who don't have a clear Terms of Service regarding commercial use. I figure newer artists (or those newer to the "adoptable market") don't really consider that some people may wish to use their designs in for-profit work - I can't blame them for that. For those who do expressly forbid any commercial use of their designs, I'll either have to redesign the characters in question or relegate them to an "off-canon" setting. Changelog:
I actually made another sketch for Medici del Mondo, but I've also had this sketch for Schwanengesang lying around for a loooong time.
Many thanks to Peng for the assistance with composition! I have a few ideas in mind for the intro to Medici del Mondo. Even if this won't be what will come out in the first few pages, I have plans for this particular sequence.
I was going to update this site (at least) once a week, but once a month might be a less ambitious goal. I will begin my second year of medical school tomorrow. Between trying my best not to fail (getting exemptions in a subject or two would be a really nice bonus) and fulfilling my duties as an officer in two organisations, I doubt I'll have a lot of time to regularly update a comic series, even one related to medical school. For this site, I'll focus on finalising character profiles/ensuring that my Weebly site and Toyhou.se account are "synced" before I go ahead and start the Medici del Mondo comic. Time allowing, I may begin doing "bonus" content or some sketches, but promises of "serious" strips. I also thought about some of the more recent, non-WCH crossovers Peng made involving my characters, and I figured I'd make a new page just for them. (I'd put them under the WCH category, but they weren't specifically made for the WCH collab.) I'm not sure if I want to make it only have one or two coloured pages per "chapter" (cover page + first page,) just like some manga series, or whether the entire comic will be monochrome with minimal shading. After reading relyon's "I Wanna Be Loved By You," I considered turning Medici del Mondo into a similar 4koma format. Changelog:
